Sharon Stone, Just Like Jerry Falwell....

I liked Sharon Stone. I admired her because I thought she was a truly compassionate person after I had heard her speak several times in different interviews. One interview that really impressed me much and made me think very highly of her was her appearance at The Actors Studio TV show in 1999. Since then, I had been her admirer and supporter, now, after what she has said about how it was probably karma what caused the Chinese earthquake killing thousands of innocents.....I don't know, I don't know if I am going to continue to be an admirer of her. It saddens me, because her stupid remarks remind me of another hateful person: Jerry Falwell, when he said:

"AIDS is not just God's punishment for homosexuals; it is God's punishment for the society that tolerates homosexuals”

So, for Sharon Stone is karma what punishes and kills innocent people in a horrific way? How is Sharon Stone any different from Jerry Falwell?

Pathetic

GIRO D'ITALIA 2008, Stage 16

CONTADOR CELEBRATING WITH A PINK SHAKE

Alberto Contador STAYS IN PINK! And the time between him and Ricco has expanded from 33" to 41" , this gives Contador a better chance to win this Giro. But let's not forget the will and courage of Ricco, he is strong and very competitive. I like Ricco, personally, because he's a fighter and doesn't give up, even when the things might look somber, he pushes himself to the limit to win and to show the world that he is a good cyclist. I like Contador too, even though he doesn't have an egotistical road cycling attitude.

Bill Henson, An Artist Or A Pedophile?

Bill Henson is an Australian photographer who has had a passion for naked art, which I am totally for, as long as the bodies being photographed are those of adult men and women, not those of teenagers, not those of children. That is simply wrong. Bill Henson's photographs have been, gladly for me, removed by the Albury Regional Art Gallery

This is not art. Naked pictures of children is NOT art.

From article:

NSW police have seized 20 of 41 photographs from Bill Henson's Sydney exhibition of adolescent girls with the intention of launching criminal proceedings under the Child Protection Act.

Albury Council took down three of the photographer's pictures late Friday, more than a month since they went on display.

The move came as police prepared to lay charges after more than 20 Henson photographs, labelled "absolutely revolting'' by Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, were seized from Sydney's Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery.

Alberto Contador In The Maglia Rosa

ALBERTO CONTADOR LOOKING LIKE A CYCLING GOD

He did it, he did it again.....Alberto Contador is an excellent climber and he proved it today. The way he conquers every mountain reminds me a little bit of Lance Armstrong; it brings back some great memories when I used to admire my hero Lance going up the Alps so fast and so strong. Of course, in no way I'm comparing Contador with Armstrong in an absolute way, he still needs to learn more, experience more, to perfect his form, etc. I don't know if Contador is going to win the Giro, there are others that are fighting for the win and are very strong. Ricco could give him a very good fight, especially after the ITT on Monday, then, we will know more or less who's going to be on the #1 place on the final podium.

Overall (after 15 stages)

1. Alberto Contador (ESP), Astana, 68:06:43

2. Riccardo Ricco' (ITA), Saunier Duval, at 0:33

3. Danilo Di Luca (ITA), Team L.P.R., at 0:55

4. Marzio Bruseghin (ITA), Lampre, at 1:18

5. Denis Menchov (RUS), Rabobank, at 1:20

6. Gilberto Simoni (ITA), Serramenti PVC Diquigiovanni, at 1:26

7. Franco Pellizotti (ITA), Liquigas, at 2:27

8. Broeck Jurgen Van Den (BEL), Silence-Lotto, at 2:50

9. Domenico Pozzovivo (ITA), CSF Group Navigare, at 4:04

10. Emanuele Sella (ITA), CSF Group Navigare, at 4:41

17. Paolo Savoldelli (ITA), Team L.P.R., at 9:17

19. Levi Leipheimer (USA), Astana, at 12:25

21. Paolo Bettini (ITA), Quick Step, at 16:21

STDs, Sexually Transmitted Diseases On The Rise

In my private medical practice I have been noticing an incredible increase of STDs medical cases. And it amazes me that with all the information out there available to everyone, people still don't get it and still practice sex without protection, just because "it's not pleasurable enough with a condom". Patients know about the terrible consequences of having multiple partners and having sex without any kind of protection, but they still do it, and I ask myself why, why do they put their precious life at risk. We all know, that some STDs can kill us, some STDs, like HIV or Human Papiloma Virus can/are deadly.
I hope more people realize that the consequences of an irresponsible sexual behavior can shorten their life spam as well as the lives of those ones they sexually infect.

DATA: Currently, there are approximately 400 to 500 million people infected with some sort of an STD worldwide, including men and women of all economic backgrounds. If we take in consideration that we are about 6 billion people in the globe, that means that about 8.33% of the entire population of the world is infected. Sad, no?

Dogs That Bark All Night

What do you do, or what would you do if you had a maniac neighbor, with a non-trained dog barking all night, barking at everything, even at the leaf that falls from a tree? Would you talk to the neighbor and try to make him understand your despair and try to come up with a solution with him? Would you scream at your neighbor, would you scream at the dog? Would you call the police? What if nothing like this solves your problem?

What would you do then?

I have this problem going on for quite a bit sometime now, and the only solution I could come up with was: EAR PLUGS!

Parrot Fossil 55 Million Years Old Discovered

This is such an incredible and fabulous scientific discovery. The oldest parrot fossil discovered in the Southern Hemisphere, prior to this one, was not older than 15million years old, so this discovery means a lot to the scientific researchers and to all of us who can't stop admiring what nature and biological evolution teaches us every day.

Artists impression of the parrot-like bird 'Mopsitta tanta' dating back 55 million years. The fossils indicate that parrots once flew wild over what is now Norway and Denmark. (Credit: Dr David Waterhouse.)

Giro D'Italia Jury Against Levi Leipheimer

They are tough, and I don't think the Giro Jury is being fair to him and other cyclists that lost consideribly time -up to 24 seconds- due to a crash with a police motorcycle just under 1 km to go to the finish line. As of today, the time gap stands, but some Astana people are getting together with the Giro Jury to plea in favor of the cyclists. I hope the cyclists win and recover the lost time.

Gay And Lesbian Marriage Legal In California

It was right about time to have same sex marriage legal in California, good, lovely, that is what we need, even though I don't like marriage for myself (it gives me the creeps, lol) I think it should be available to all adults who wish to legalize their union to make some matters of importance, like income taxes, wills, power of attorneys, adopting children, having rights and obligations over one another, etc., valid and dignify the lives of millions of gays and lesbians.

Kudos to all those political and non-political people who have been supporting this gay and lesbian right to marry each other, from way years back. Today, it's a happy day.

Lance Armstrong Goes Mountain Biking!

My hero and idol, Lance Armstrong, decided to enjoy the Texan mountains on a Mountain Bike with several friends like Gary Fisher, amongst others, right within the perimeters of his 444 acre ranch in the Texas Hill Country, to celebrate

1) Mother's day

2) The opening of his new bike shop

They 5 mile mountain bike ride was followed by a barbecue held on the patio of Lance Armstrong's hilltop country house in Texas.

Lance can't stay away from cycling, bikes and a healthy lifestyle. What a nice way to celebrate Mother's Day and the opening of his bike shop. If more of us could learn that there ARE positive ways to enjoy and celebrate life, other than over drinking alcohol and over eating unhealthy foods and smoking cigarettes, we would all be healthier and we would all have healthier children and a healthier and less frustrated and bitter society.

Peace to all.

Alberto Contador in the 2007 Paris-Nice bicycl...Image via Wikipedia

Hey fellas, the Gran Giro 2008 has started. It's time to enjoy the Art Of Cycling. For starters, let me tell ya that Zabriskie had a terrible fall yesterday....OUCH! Poor thing, I like him so much and I wish he would have made it until the end, but the crash was terrible, so terrible that he fractured his L1 spine. The doctors say, though, that he's going to be OK, they say that the spinal cord was not, I repeat it, was not damaged in any way...whew, at least that didn't happen, he just needs to recover from the bone fracture.

Alberto Contador is in 16th. place! I thought he was going to perform OK, but he's 30 seconds behind so far. Would he do fine, I dunno. In the meantime, here are the General Classification Results as of today:

Overall (after 3 stages)

1. Franco Pellizotti (ITA), Liquigas, 11:52:17
2. Christian Vande Velde (USA), Slipstream-Chipotle, at 0:01
3. Danilo Di Luca (ITA), Team L.P.R., at 0:07
4. Morris Possoni (ITA), Team High Road, at 0:08
5. Vincenzo Nibali (ITA), Liquigas, same time
6. Nicki Sorensen (DEN), CSC, at 0:17
7. Kanstantsin Siutsou (BLR), Team High Road, at 0:18
8. Paolo Savoldelli (ITA), Team L.P.R., at 0:19
9. Andrea Noe\' (ITA), Liquigas, at 0:22
10. Enrico Gasparotto (ITA), Barloworld, at 0:25
