Mark Cavendish Wins Sprinting Stage

Mark has style and class. I like it that he knows how to thank his teammates and accept that he wins not only because he is a great sprinter but because he has great cyclists helping him along the way.

“George Hincapie went with with 800 meters to go, then Mark Renshaw went with 250 meters … we had eight guys keeping me out of trouble in the front. It’s perfect.”~Cavendish said.

He also mentioned Erik Zabel, calling him “the most consistent rider of the last generation”

“I just turned 24, I’ve won some races, but if I can combine my sprint with Erik’s consistence and experience. … We work so well together. There’s a great alchemy.”~Mark said.

For now, Mark Cavendish has two victories already. He won today's stage and holds the green jersey, with 35 points.

"Hopefully I can win on the Champs in the green jersey. That’s a dream that doesn’t come true for a lot of people" ~Cavendish said.
