Tru Blood Sports Energy Drink

There is an awesome blog about Science Fiction which posts are written by the blogger known as Mish. I am NOT a Sci Fi fanatic, let's make that clear, but I like to read her blog because she creates a nice mix of science fiction musings with reality facts, and she is also a cycling fanatic like myself and loves sports like I do.

Last week she wrote about this TV series called TruBlood, but what called my special attention was the fact that she mentioned this new sports energy drink that is part of this HBO Sci Fi show and now it's available to the public. Of course, it's name is TruBlood.
"It's official! The Tru Blood drink has now been "de-fictionalized" and emerges into reality as a delicious blood orange carbonated drink." --promotes HBO
This is part of my comment on Mish's blog:
"Another point I wanted to talk about is what you say about the new ENERGY DRINK that will be available in January, the Tru Blood drink.
I love energy drinks with low carbs or no sugar at all. What I like in them is the content of high caffeine and high L-Taurine, specially the latter.
I hope this new energy drink is available in Mexico, my place or residence, I would love to try some, get on my road bike to race on a Sunday morning and do a Floyd Landis win....!"

I don't drink energy drinks as often as some people, but if my day is dragging by, have lots of things to do and have to keep on going I'll go get a no cal Red Bull or Monster. I hope this drink is available in most stores.

I'm pleased to finally read an article where health experts aren't paranoid and concerned about sport energy drinks.
It's an overkill to constantly have some nameless, faceless, useless "health expert", nutritionist or doctor trying to tell ME how I should live my life and how "unhealthy" drinks are.
Thank you doctor Castro for this article, it's refreshing, encouraging, informative and FUNNY!! Please let us know when you kick a Floyd Landis win...hahaha...I'll never forget stage 17 in 2006 Tour de France.
Thanks for the laugh doc!

Energy drinks help us older people think better. I'm an avid cyclist and enjoy energy drinks.
I agree 100% with TShame.

This sport drink isn't real. It's just a promotional gadget to suck people in. It isn't, and will never, be sold in stores. At least not now. I'm sure if Pepsi or Budweiser decided to license it, HBO would hand it over lickety-split.

Of course I could see those pretty red bottles with their enticing red-and-black labels sitting on the shelves between Mike's Hard Lemonade and Puckers. I'd buy that!
