Halloween Bike Ride, Want to Play a Game?

Today was a beautiful bright day where I live. Rode my bike for 3:40 hrs wearing my skull-death cycling jersey. Rode like crazy, didn't respect any stop sign, screamed bad words at all pedestrians admiring my awesome cycling outfit and scared the heck out of a lot of people...HAHAHA!

Gerald Celente on Fox Business TV

We have been blogging about Mr. Gerald Celente for about a year or so. Love him or hate him, Mr. Celente has a very unique way to communicate with his listeners, and that makes him special and interesting.
Referring to New York and the US in general, Mr. Celente says:
"...are those homeless people that are popping everywhere an illusion, a mirage?

I like everything that he says, the only one thing I disagree with him in this particular video is what he has to say about some college degrees, like religious studies, art history and business administration. Mr. Celente thinks these are not "real degrees".
I respectfully disagree. Going to university is always a great accomplishment and an honor, no matter what degree the student is going for. Not all of us like the same kind of science or have that special ability to pursue certain career. God is my witness, I would have loved to have had the brains to go for physics, instead I have the brains and the heart placed for medical science, so I became a medical doctor and now I have several sub-specialties and post-degrees..
But I would not discourage any young student from pursuing any career they really love, no matter what it is. That is the key for success, to REALLY LOVE what you are studying, otherwise you will be a failure, a failure as a physician, as a business administrator, as a historian or as a lawyer.
Love your career and you will have tremendous success...apathy for your career will make you a pretty mediocre professional, if you don't drop out of university before you graduate.

Mr. Gerald Celente has a fascinating website. I invite you to click on the link and enjoy his work.

London Housing Benefit Cuts Will Cause Exodus of Poor Families

Jon Cruddas, the Labour MP for Dagenham, accused the UK government of deliberate social engineering:
"It is an exercise in social and economic cleansing," he said, claiming that families would be thrown into turmoil, with children having to move school and those in work having to travel long distances to their jobs. "It is tantamount to cleansing the poor out of rich areas – a brutal and shocking piece of social engineering," Cruddas added.

In my personal opinion, the real social and financial problems around the globe are starting to manifest in an obvious way, so obvious that, whoever doesn't realize what's going on is because either, he/she has been living under a rock for the last 3 years, or because there is something really wrong with his/her brain. No offense intended, but seriously people, wake up to reality if you haven't already.
"Ministers were accused last night of deliberately driving poor people out of wealthy inner cities as London councils revealed they were preparing a mass exodus of low-income families from the capital because of coalition benefit cuts.
Councils in the capital are warning that 82,000 families – more than 200,000 people – face losing their homes because private landlords, enjoying a healthy rental market buoyed by young professionals who cannot afford to buy, will not cut their rents to the level of caps imposed by ministers."
It is okay to be magnanimous when I am doing fine financially, but if I am not, then I cannot be magnanimous with my money, simply because I have to take care of my family and my own needs first.

I am posting on this not because I agree or disagree with the Labor Party, not because I agree or disagree with austerity in London. I am simply shocked at what is happening IN THE WORLD (this social/financial cleansing is also going on in Spain). The people who put these lower income families years ago in the rich-wealthier areas  knew what they were doing, and now, in these tough economic times when not only the poor are suffering financially, also the wealthier and the governments (the latter because of a decrease in revenues) anybody who is out of work becomes a burden to society.

Problem is that from now on, anybody who becomes too sick or too expensive, will be eliminated, one way or another. Period. But, in the process, will the needy riot, loot, rob, kill, in order to survive? what will happen? will things get better or worse?

Meg Whitman Not an Abuser

Republican Meg Whitman, racing for governor of California this November 2nd hired an illegal alien for 9 years as a housekeeper, Nicky Diaz. Nicky Diaz has complained of abuse by Rep. Meg Whitman and has a lawyer, Gloria Allred, to represent her allegations.
We don't know if Ms. Meg Whitman is or isn't an abuser. What we know for sure is how to have fun with it.
A little lesson to Meg Whitman: next time you talk to the Spanish speaking press tell them: "YO NO SOY ABUSADORA" (I AM NOT AN ABUSER)!
TRANSLATION:
We'll see who is the abuser, you or me
They call me an abuser all over
Now people know who I am because of your lying mouth
I am not an abuser
I am not an abuser
I am not an abuser
I let you go because I didn't want you
Because you didn't even cook
Thank God I got rid of you
I am not an abuser
I am not an abuser
I am not an abuser

California Cities Lowering Standards for Money

California in decadence? Sadly, maybe yes. But I hope that the people of California try to remember the great state they have been for decades. I certainly hope that the Californians can come out of their financial troubles with dignity, respect and pride.
The Golden State was an exemplary place on earth, a state of glory and miracles, a land to be reborn, to find love and success.
"Like every municipality, we're looking at ways of increasing revenues," said Howze, who wants to change zoning laws to allow the big guys in. "Every dollar is stretched thin."
So much for big development plans. Across the country, cash-strapped communities are welcoming slot machines, tattoo parlors, landfills and other businesses they shunned in the heady days of the real estate boom.
Nationwide, nearly 90% of city officials polled said their communities this year are in worse financial shape than in 2009, according to a survey from the National League of Cities. About 79% of cities are cutting personnel.
California municipalities are particularly hard-pressed.

New $100 US Dollar Bill

Reading my daily economic news and data, I came across to a very funny article written by Tyler Durden in ZeroHedge. And I agree 100 percent. If the current financial policies implemented by the Fed continue, soon we will see a more severe devaluation of the mighty dollar. Problem is, the mighty dollar plays the role as the main reserve currency of the world . If the USD loses value and its confidence, eventually, the rest of the currencies of the world will be in deep trouble too, no matter if they go up or down against the US dollar.
Gold is first, US dollar second, the rest of the currencies of the world third.
"A few weeks ago, the Fed announced that the new $100 dollar note has been delayed, and will not make broad circulation by the February 2011 scheduled date. Contrary to prior rumors that either the Fed's printer had finally broken, or that all the ink had been used up, courtesy of William Banzai we now know the true reason. Over the past several months, using the smokescreen of QE 2, the Fed has been secretly contemplating two completely different  monetary concepts, both very much appropriate for our Keynesian end-times."

NY State fiscal problems: Buffalo schools might lay off 900
BUFFALO (wned)-More layoffs could be coming to the Buffalo School District if a fiscal crisis is not resolved by Albany decision-makers.

I Shall Not Curse At People

To live a strong and healthy life it is necessary to learn how to live without hate. Eating well and exercising regularly are two habits that do help a lot to have a lean body. But being lean and fit does not necessarily bring total health if we don't learn how to control our anxiety.

There are many diseases that can be easier/faster triggered by stress, hate, resentment, frustration, anger and all kinds of negative feelings.
So I decided I wanted to live a healthy life, not only physically but also mentally and spiritually  Try to let go off negative feelings. Try to live a down to earth life. It is very hard for anyone to make me angry anymore, very hard indeed.....Oh nooo, wait... there is still something that makes me curse at people and even flip them off once in a while: When I am biking and going pretty fast I demand people to respect me and watch out for me. I can get pretty nasty if drivers don't let me go first. Yes I know, I shouldn't do this. It's not good for my health. From now on I will be kinder to pedestrians and even to car drivers -this is going to be hard...mmm...

So, my friends, here it is my promise:

"I shall not curse at people nor flip them off while I am road cycling, no matter how fast I'm pedaling, no matter how fast my heart is pumping, no matter how 'high' I feel from the hyperoxymia and the high amounts of endorphins produced in my body from the intense exercise and I shall not appear to have a holier-than-thou attitude. I shall do this and commit to write posts on this blog about all my bike rides that do not comply with this promise" ~Livingstrong.
I hope I do OK, if not, you will hear about it.  Photobucket

My Cat Tiger

This is Tiger, one of my adorable cats I have now. He is sweet and a trouble maker sometimes...and I decided to upload a picture of him because it's his birthday. He's been with us 2 years. We adopted him when he was barely 6 weeks old in 2008. He was wild, literally, and now he is a 100 percent an indoor cat.

Pharmacy Industry 6000 Jobs Lost in September 2010

And the down-spiral continues...Pharmaceutical companies laying people off, not only in US, but in the UK and around the world, due to a severe decline in the private medical practice sector. But of course. What can we expect when socialist-fascist government interventions implement low quality health care? Government health care will NEVER provide the same high quality medical attention that the private sector does. Nothing is free in this world of us we live in. Somebody has to pay for goods and services rendered. And believe me, folks, politicians will only bleed the tax payer pockets, they will never pay for your "free health care". One way or another YOU and I will. And it won't be cheaper than private health care.

Mark my words. Government health care is destined to fail.
Oct. 07--The pharmaceutical industry shed more than 6,000 jobs nationwide last month, as total layoffs in the sector across the United States reached a high not seen since May, according to new numbers released Wednesday.
The outplacement consultant Challenger, Gray & Christmas said the 6,069 pharmaceutical jobs lost nationwide in September compares with 255 reductions in August.

Bob Chapman Bull on Gold Market

Bob Chapman, 74 years old, is a very smart economist and international forecaster with more than 50 years of experience. His financial knowledge is immense and his forecasting accurate up to an outstanding 98%.

This is an exert of his most recent article:
Joblessness still dogs the economy, which needs 125,000 jobs monthly just to keep up with population growth. As we await September’s statistics we wonder if they’ll be as bad as August’s loss of 54,000 jobs? This unfortunate situation has been going on for more than three years; 22 million Americans do not have jobs and some 10,000 million additional are forced to work part-time, some 34 hours a week. Having real unemployment at 22-5/8% makes recovery very difficult. That figures is U-6 less the bogus birth/death ratio. It’s not surprising that credit card and mortgage debt go unpaid as default and foreclosure accelerate. These conditions are certainly a drag on sales. As those sales falter businesses lay off more workers, which exacerbates the problem.

In actuality today’s conditions are much worse already than in the 1930s, due to today’s social underpinnings, such as welfare, food stamps, government hiring and unemployment insurance. That said, spending by the administration and the Federal Reserve over and above the social safety net, has been almost totally lavished upon the financial sector and transnational conglomerates.

Atlantic City Casinos Lay Offs

You know that things are not doing well and that economic recovery is a lie when even casinos have to lay off 1,400 people in one single month. Ben Bernanke and President Barack Obama, as many other "economists", lie!
ATLANTIC CITY - Casinos slashed nearly 1,400 jobs in September, eliminating more than 300 additional workers than at the same time last year during the traditional post-Labor Day slowdown in tourism.
Figures released Tuesday by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission show that all 11 casino hotels trimmed their payrolls for the month, reducing the industry's total work force to 35,917, and reflecting continued weakness in gaming revenue.

Why Do You Like Cycling?

I rode 65.52 kms today. It was a beautiful Sunday morning. I left my house at 5:32 am. Temperature was 22 Centigrade, moderate winds, and the city was all for me with practically zero traffic.
My road bike was in excellent condition, well lubricated and well inflated tires. It almost seems that the whole universe wanted me to enjoy my bike ride without limits. And so I did. IT WAS WONDERFUL!

This pic was taken last April but it's part of the same road I went by today

My average speed was 28 kms/hr with climbs included. The pain climbing those hills was sweet and the suffering welcome. Riding back down was nice, but not nearly the sweetest part.
Then, I got myself thinking: why do I like cycling if I am sprinting and puffing and sweating, why do I like cycling if I have to give up sleep in, my muscles get sore and sometimes I get scary muscle cramps? And the answer was: cycling makes me feel ALIVE, that is it, alive and with a sensation of accomplishment and total fulfillment, pride and wellness.

Biking is, to me, the most wonderful sport of the world.

Grand Global Financial Depression

US financial decline has not reached bottom yet. No matter what Helicopter Ben Bernanke and Co. say, no matter how much quantitative easing -printing fiat money- they produce, United States of America still in deep economic trouble.
Unfortunately, US is not the only one going down. The European Union is facing massive austerity plans that have the people of Spain, Ireland, France, Greece, UK and other 27 countries of the EU in violent chaos.
