Salmonella Outbreak in Alfalfa Sprouts in US
The CDC (Center for Disease Control) reports today that there is an outbreak of alfalfa sprouts infected with Salmonella, which has had affected 94 patients in 16 States of the United States of America.
I just cannot believe that people are not well educated in regards to how to follow proper food preparation hygiene.
Getting Salmonella on alfalfa sprouts should not occurred, but it happens, and it should be the responsibility of the consumer to be properly educated in how to clean and sterilize the vegetables we put on our table. I just cannot believe that 94 people got sick from eating alfalfa sprouts on the 21st Century and in a "first world country".
What is the most shocking to me: In other US blogs and websites reporting this outbreak, I am reading some idiotic and unintelligent and stupid comments made by their readers, like this one:
"Alfalfa sprouts and bean sprouts have been rampant carriers of salmonella for over 20 years. Even though I like them, I won't eat them. Organic and non-organic has nothing to do with the problem. I think they're just highly prone to be carriers. You can't wash off this bacteria"
Truth is, you CAN get read of Salmonella by washing the sprout first and then by using a very cheap antibacterial solution called Macrodyn or Bacdyn. Using an antibacterial product in a soak solution for 10 to 15 minutes will ensure clean produce, whether it is to be eaten raw or cooked.
To my readers:
You have to be very careful when you read blogs, websites, any news or opinions on the internet or TV, comments related to the posts made by unqualified people who have absolute no knowledge about medicine, nutrition nor hygiene. Just because a person knows that s/he has to wash his hands before handling food that doesn't make him an expert nor qualified to give advice on how to prevent infections of any kind for that matter.
Remember, stay strong and long!

Jonathan Livingston Seagull Quote Video
I dedicate this post to all Jonathan Livingston people out there in the world. To the ones who love real freedom, to the ones who do not conform to the 'sheeple' and flock, to the ones who want to keep on learning new things, acquire knowledge, to the ones who never give up, to the ones who have hunger for living.
I read this book written by Richard Back when I was 12 years old, and watched the movie when I was 15. Since then, the essence of Johnathan Livingston Seagull stays within me, forever.
"I can die here or I can force myself to fly. It's in me. I have got to try" -Jonathan Livingston Seagull
Stay strong and long!

War is Over Merry Christmas John Lennon
Well, definitely and sadly, WAR IS NOT OVER, it has never been; and THAT is an ugly reality, people. But for what it is worth today, Merry Christmas to all.
Now, I am going to eat a slice of carrot cake.
LYRICS
So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones
The old and the young
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas War is over
For weak and for strong If you want it
For rich and the poor ones War is over
The world is so wrong Now
And so Happy Christmas War is over
For black and for white If you want it
For yellow and red ones War is over
Let's stop all the fight Now
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas War is over
And what have we done If you want it
Another year over War is over
And a new one just begun Now

Merry Christmas Happy Holidays Feliz Navidad
There are two kinds of people in the entire whole world: those who love cycling and those who don't, and they are by definition:
1. Cyclists
2. Non-cyclists
This year I want to wish, from very bottom of my heart and with all the power of my brain and the kindness of my spirit, a very Merry Christmas and happy Holidays (to the ones who do not celebrate Christmas) to all, cyclists or not (although, I hope that the ones who do not pedal...START TO DO IT SOON, people! -just kidding...NOT!).
I am no one to give moral nor spiritual advice, I am just a medical doctor and a passionate cyclist who has lived a life full of passion for 48 years, and have enjoyed tremendously this ride that God, life, nature, the Great Spirit, has giving me, and for that, I am deeply thankful. But for what is worth, I just want to tell you all: Be good to yourself, to your family and friends, be good to nature, pets, animals. Sometimes, suffering could be very very painful, but at the end of the rainbow of tears, we might just find a treasure of happiness and joy. So...
Stay strong and long!

US Medical Emergency Preparedness in Dire Conditions
Budget Cuts Threaten Post-9/11 Gains
More than three-quarters of states met at least seven of the 10 indicators, but Levi warned that budget cuts at the national, state, and local level may have already impacted readiness to respond to public health emergencies such as disease outbreaks, natural disasters, or acts of terrorism that impact public health.
Among the ominous signs:
33 states and Washington, D.C., cut funding for public health last year, and 18 states cut funding for the second year in a row. Georgia decreased funding the most by almost 35%, followed by Arizona and the
District of Columbia, which cut funding by 23% and 18%, respectively.
Since 2008, 15% of public health work force has been cut at 2,700 health departments across the country.
In addition to cutting staff, many state and local governments have instituted work furloughs, hiring freezes, and shorter workweeks to address budget shortfalls.
Nearly three-quarters of Americans live in areas where local health departments have fewer employees than they did before the recession began.

Barack Obama The Rising Star
This is one the most interesting articles I have read in the last week. I want to share it with you because knowledge makes us grow and independent; knowledge is the most powerful tool any human being can have.
Written by Thomas Fife
During the period of roughly February 1992 to mid 1994, I was making frequent trips to Moscow, Russia, in the process of starting a software development joint-venture company with some people from the Russian scientific community. One of the men in charge on the Russian side was named V. M.; he had a wife named T.M.
V. was a level-headed scientist while his wife was rather deeply committed to the losing Communist cause – a cause she obviously was not abandoning.
One evening, during a trip early in 1992, the American half of our venture were invited to V. & T.’s Moscow flat as we were about to return to the States. The party went well and we had the normal dinner discussions.
As the evening wore on, T. developed a decidedly rough anti-American edge – one her husband tried to quietly rein in.
The bottom line of the tirade she started against the United States went something like this:
“You Americans always like to think that you have the perfect government and your people are always so perfect. Well then, why haven’t you had a woman president by now? You had a chance to vote for a woman vice-president and you didn’t do it.”
The general response went something along the lines that you don’t vote for someone just because of their sex. Besides, you don’t vote for vice-president, but the president and vice-president as a ticket.
“Well, I think you are going to be surprised when you get a black president very soon.”
The consensus we expressed was that we didn’t think there was anything innately barring that. The right person at the right time and sure, America would try to vote for the right person, be he or she black or not.
“What if I told you that you will have a black president very soon and he will be a Communist?”
The out-of-the-blue remark was met by our stares. She continued, “Well, you will; and he will be a Communist.”
It was then that the husband unsuccessfully tried to change the subject; but she was on a roll and would have nothing of it. One of us asked, “It sounds like you know something we don’t know.”
“Yes, it is true. This is not some idle talk. He is already born and he is educated and being groomed to be president right now. You will be impressed to know that he has gone to the best schools of Presidents. He is what you call “Ivy League”. You don’t believe me, but he is real and I even know his name. His name is Barack. His mother is white and American and his father is black from Africa. That’s right, a chocolate baby! And he’s going to be your President.”
She became more and more smug as she presented her stream of detailed knowledge and predictions so matter-of-factly – as though all were foregone conclusions. “It’s all been thought out. His father is not an American black so he won’t have that social slave stigma. He is intelligent and he is half white and has been raised from the cradle to be an atheist and a Communist. He’s gone to the finest schools. He is being guided every step of the way and he will be irresistible to America.”
We sat there not knowing what to say. She was obviously very happy that the Communists were doing this and that it would somehow be a thumbing of their collective noses at America: they would give us a black president and he’d be a Communist to boot. She made it quite obvious that she thought that this was going to breathe new life into world Communism. From this and other conversations with her, she always asserted that Communism was far from dead.
She was full of little details about him that she was eager to relate. I thought that maybe she was trying to show off that this truly was a real person and not just hot air.
She rattled off a complete litany. He was from Hawaii. He went to school in California. He lived in Chicago. He was soon to be elected to the legislature. “Have no doubt: he is one of us, a Soviet.”
At one point, she related some sort of San Francisco connection, but I didn’t understand what the point was and don’t recall much about that. I was just left with the notion that she considered the city to be some sort of a center for their activity here.
Since I had dabbled in languages, I knew a smattering of Arabic. I made a comment: “If I remember correctly, ‘Barack’ comes from the Arabic word for ‘Blessing.’ That seems to be an odd name for an American.” She replied quickly, “Yes. It is ‘African’”, she insisted, “and he will be a blessing for world Communism. We will regain our strength and become the number one power in the world.”
She continued with something to the effect that America was at the same time the great hope and the great obstacle for Communism. America would have to be converted to Communism and Barack was going to pave the way.
So, what does this conversation from 1992 prove?
Well, it’s definitely anecdotal. It doesn’t prove that Obama has had Soviet Communist training nor that he was groomed to be the first black American president, but it does show one thing that I think is very important. It shows that Soviet Russian Communists knew of Barack from a very early date. It also shows that they truly believed among themselves that he was raised and groomed Communist to pave the way for their future. This report on Barack came personally to me from one of them long before America knew he existed.
Although I had never before heard of him, at the time of this conversation Obama was 30+ years old and was obviously tested enough that he was their anticipated rising star.

Food Stamps make JPMorgan Bank Richer
Oh yes, money, money, money...yes, "money makes the world go around", doesn't it?.
JP Morgan is making millions of dollars producing food stamps for the starving Americans. And anyone who thinks that the USA and its current President, Barack Hussein Obama and his cronies are giving food stamps galore out of compassion, are really stupid and dumb.
1 in 7 Americans rely on food stamps
By Aaron Smith, staff writerDecember 21, 2010: 8:38 AM ET
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- The use of food stamps has increased dramatically in the U.S., as the federal government ramps up basic assistance to meet the demands of an increasingly desperate population.
The number of food stamp recipients increased 16% over last year. This means that 14% of the population is now living on food stamps. That's about 43 million people, or about one out of every seven Americans.
In some states, like Tennessee, Mississippi, New Mexico and Oregon, one in five people are receiving food stamps. Washington, D.C. leads the nation, with 21.5% of the population on food stamps.

Dream Act or Nightmare Pact?
I am pleased to know that the Dream Act died on the Senate floor Saturday morning, and I hope that's the end of it.
The Dream Act, a bill to provide a path to citizenship for some illegal immigrants who entered the United States before age 16, died on the Senate floor on Saturday morning. Why should United States have to facilitate the path to citizenship to illegal immigrants when in any other country of the world foreigners have to follow the rules before entering a country. Children of illegal immigrants who were brought illegally by their parents should go back to their county with their parents.
The failure of the Dream Act gives more ammunition to Hispanic leaders who have begun to publicly wonder why Democrats have failed to move forward on their priorities. It appears unlikely that many will move toward Republicans, however, in light of widespread support in the GOP for the controversial Arizona immigration law as well as the rhetoric from some Republicans on "birthright citizenship" and other immigration-related matters.Read more

Lance Armstrong to race Beavan Docherty in Thiathlon New Zealand
Lance Armstrong will race the sprint marathon that will be held on January 30 in New Zealand, the Triathlon New Zealand 2011
Two time Olympic triathlon medalist Bevan Docherty is hopeful to compete against Lance and said to the press:
Two time Olympic triathlon medalist Bevan Docherty is hopeful to compete against Lance and said to the press:
"It's super exciting that Lance could be racing in Rotorua, not only is it good for the sport but it's great for Triathlon New Zealand. This sprint triathlon of a 750m lake swim, 16km road cycle and a 5.5km forest run will be quite fast and I think that it's a good start for Armstrong to get back into this wonderful race. Triathletes have more ethics and respect the value of the sport more than the modern pro-cyclists, generally speaking of course. There are still some professional cyclists who care too much about cycling and do not want fake glory and just keep on racing year after year.
"He couldn't have chosen a better race to get back into it, the Blue Lake is one of the most beautiful locations and for a sprint triathlon race a pretty tough course."

Blogger Comments VS Disqus Comments
As you might have noticed, I recently switched from the regular Blogspot comments platform to the Disqus one, but my readers were not too happy with the change because Disqus takes too long to upload the comment section to Blogger.
I received tons of emails asking me to change back to Blogger comments format. So I did, and now I hope you all a happy commenting time again.
Sincerely,
Dr. Martha Castro, MD

Get Your Gold and Silver Byatches!
You better get prepared now, I'm telling you. The ones who are able to think out the box and expand their minds will be OK, the others, the herd, the sheeple, will not.
Learn, get educated, keep yourself healthy, keep your mind bright, do not forget compasion and preserve your wealth...BUY SILVER, BYATCHES!
Learn, get educated, keep yourself healthy, keep your mind bright, do not forget compasion and preserve your wealth...BUY SILVER, BYATCHES!
If silver were priced based on its occurrence relative to gold, it would be over $125/oz. If it were priced on its availability – somewhere around $2,000. But if you are content to let the likes of Blythe Masters dictate the value based on truckloads of worthless paper promises, you can expect ultra-low prices until the whole thing blows up. Of course at that point, we’ll be so busy killing each other for food no one will have time to say, “I told you so.”Read more at Zerohedge

T.J. Maxx 4,400 Layoffs A.J Wright Closes Down
So much for recovery, huh?
T.J. Maxx and Marshalls parent TJX Cos. (TJX) announced plans on Friday to slash more than 4,000 jobs and shut down its A.J. Wright division.
Framingham, Mass.-based TJX said it plans to convert 91 A.J. Wright stores into T.J. Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods stores
The remaining 71 A.J. Wright stores will be shuttered.
“While I believe this move makes us a much stronger company and will benefit TJX in both the near-term and long-term, it was not an easy decision as many positions will be eliminated and it will be difficult for our affected associates,” CEO Carol Meyrowitz said in a statement.Read more

"Every other race we went to last year he had a new pair of shorts, different chamois, material and seams," Tamayo said. "He has been working on the fit of the clothing, length of the sleeves, materials for thermal jackets and time trial skinsuits. He’s flown out to Voler where they spent time measuring him and designing the new clothing."Read more

Italian Cyclists Horribly Killed by Pothead Driver
Sad news to report on today, very sad news for anyone who is in love with the most beautiful sport in the world: cycling.
This last Sunday, December 5, seven cyclists were savagely killed by a stupid car driver in Italy who tested later positive for marihuana.

My heart goes out to the family and friends of all the dead cyclists. This was a horrible massacre commited by a filthy low-life drugaddict. I hope he is convicted and rots in jail.

The group of male bicyclists included several middle-aged and younger men, and basically rode for relaxation on Sundays and holidays. They were struck on an asphalt road that leads from Lamezia Terme to Gizzeria Lido in the Catanzaro area, ANSA reported.

Favorite Cartoon of the Week: TSA Scanning the Statue of Liberty
ENGLISH VERSION:
This TSA cartoon with the Statue of Liberty is my favorite cartoon of the week. It is so clever and has meaning: the abuse by the American government on their own citizens that live in the "land of the free".
I am curious though. Will citizens from other countries all over the world be willing to put themselves through this humilliation too when traveling by airplane to the United States of America or will they just decide not to travel to the US anymore? I wonder.
Stay strong and smart!
Mantente fuerte e inteligente!

Layoffs and Food Stamps in United States on the Rise
Layoffs in the US continue to rise, as well as the poverty rate. The official unemployment went up to 9.8% from 9.6%, but any person who praises him/herself as being smart, knows that this number is inaccurate and the American government uses a U-3 rate to manipulate people into thinking that "things are not really that bad in the US" and that "there is a recovery going on".
The real unemployment in the US is 22.5% based on U-6 REAL data. Period. The U-6 unemployment rate is the one that the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) uses, and includes short-term discouraged and other marginally-attached workers as well as those forced to work part-time because they cannot find full-time employment.

SOURCE: Shadow Government Statistics
The number of people living in the United States of America who are currently receiving food stamps is really shocking: 42.9 million, 14% of their population. These numbers are provided by the Supplemental Nutrition Assistant Program -SNAP- in their September 2010 release data

Rothschild VS Nigel Farage and European Union VS United States of America
ENGLISH VERSION:
Obviously, Mr. Evelyn de Rothschild doesn't want the European Union to break up, (at 1:50) and points out how devastated California and Michigan are, financially, amongst several other states of the United States of America.
Notice, at 1:50 how he thinks the US should break up first, not the EU. It's just interesting to me that someone like him lets me know through his gestures and body language his great dislike for US. Those people usually have extreme control over their emotions, but he could not control himself this time. Interesting.
Now listen to Nigel Farage, he prays for the break up of the European Union, to give Europeans their democracy and sovereignty back.
Isn't it interesting how the powers that be do not agree and they are angry and fighting to regain what they have lost? But what could that be, money, power, both?
Hopefully, we peasants (that is all we are to them, to the world elite), can make it through these hard times. I know we will, if we study, open our minds, prepare financially, physically and spiritually; nothing can destroy our spirits if we keep on learning, our minds should be bright and smart and our dignity strong.
Stand strong and smart!
