These are some pictures of my road cycling training in Tijuana last Sunday 23 of January. The day was so beautiful and the sky so blue, it was breathtaking. I decided to take some pics and show them to you. I think I'm gonna take the same path tomorrow, but I don't know yet, rain is in the forecast for Sunday and Monday, in that case I would have to do some indoor training.
This is the top of a 13.8 kms. mountain, with an average of a 9 to 12 inclination.
Trying to take a picture of nature, my bike and myself.
JUST ADMIRING NATURE.

Nice road, solitary and peaceful.
ReplyDeleteTijuana is beautiful. I'd love to ride with you there but I'm across the pond :)
ReplyDeleteMy ride last Sunday was awful. I got out of shape over Christmas. Doesn't help that I ride fixed so can't change gear! Either way I made it home, but not without quite a bit of heavy breathing - hope I'm back in form tomorrow!
Nice photos of TJ, Doc. It looks like the weather is not cold there, is it?
ReplyDeleteWhere I live is very cold still. Cold (mid 20's -Fahrenheit-)and clear the last two nights with very little wind. I got an insulated thermos mug from Eleven Gear for Christmas and I love it. It is nice to have a hot sip of coffee or tea on these cold rides. Over the weekend I took it on a longer ride and it was still warm 90 minutes into the ride. I also ordered a "real" cycling winter jacket yesterday, should have it by the end of the week.
GREAT PICS!
ReplyDeleteMy rides are so far OK, with no rain, a bit of headwind, and pretty warm for this time of year.
Forgot to ask you, Doc. Is your bike a hybrid? It looks nice, but I'd like to see it up-close. Would you mind to post a pic of it?
ReplyDeleteWish I were there with you, Doc. It looks warmer than here in Canada, LOL. Cycling ride this week was warmer but wet. 8C/48F with rain. This is the first time since the Christmas season started that I've been able to ride 4 days in a week. It's been nice and my legs are finally get used to the hill again.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're already climbing. But the area where you bike in Tijuana looks so sunny and pretty. Oh, man, I wish we had that wonderful weather here.
ReplyDeleteMy bike rides are so SLOW! Today, it was so slow, I felt like something was wrong with me. Then when I got to work and dismounted I discovered my rear (hydraulic) disk caliper was dragging pretty badly. Never happened before in the cold. I'm not sure what to make of it. Temps were in the low teens (~-10C).
genioenbici,
ReplyDeleteSolitary and peaceful bike ride is a requirement for my intrepid soul, once in a while.
Looks like a nice route you have got there doc. What you want now is a helmet cam (A cheap way of doing this is to buy a mini spy video camera from e-bay for about $40. These give average footage, but 2 hrs worth. Aparently, they are now coming with helmet mounts.
ReplyDeleteShare more of your rides in future doc.
Luck
Alex,
ReplyDeleteI have a helmet camera so cheap. I paid about 10 bucks for it about a year ago, in a San Diego, CA bicycling store. I will try to use it this week but it's kind of weird...so cheap, you know.
I'm in the process of getting a good quality helmet camera. Tijuana gets almost all its cycling merchandise from California, and for a very weird reason California seems to lack from HELMET CAMERAS, DARN! HAHAHA.
I went to Performance (a cycling store in Bonita, CA) 2 months ago, ordered a helmet cam and they couldn't get it for me.
So, I went a week ago to my favorite Tijuana cycling provider and ordered a helmet camera. He told me that he can get it for me, but he has to get it from a New York cycling provider, who gets its merchandise from Europe...can you believe it?!
Anyways, that is a fantastic news for me. He said that my helmet camera has been ordered, and I am excited waiting for it. In the meantime, I will use my 10 US dollar helmet cam sometime this week and I will share the video or pics with you guys. Hope the cheap cam works...LOL...
