Once you let the government to take over your right to rightfully own your health, you are in danger. But unfortunately, most people want their government to take care of their health, money, retirement plans, etc. That, with all respect, I think is foolish. We, as individuals and as a nation, should be sovereign and learn to have wisdom enough to manage our own affairs, to manage our money, health, etc.

UK Healthcare System Horrors NHS
This is the reason why I oppose any kind of universal, national, governmental, "free" health care. Sure, I also think that a compassionate nation should have some kind of health care for the poor, the real poor, the ones that don't have credit cards, the ones that do not own automobiles, the ones that cannot afford vacations, the real poor.
